Visiting and guest professors

 

ENGAGEMENT OF A VISITING PROFESSOR AT FVM UB

The conditions and manner of engagement a visiting professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine University of Belgrade are prescribed by the Rulebook on conditions and terms of engaging a visiting professor at the University of Belgrade.

The Faculty can engage Professor from other Universities and Faculties outside the territory of the Republic of Serbia as a Visiting Professor, without the open Call. The rights and obligations of a Visiting Professor are governed by the Contract of engagement for teaching, under the conditions and in the manner prescribed by the general act of the University.

Criteria for engagement of visiting professor at FVM UB
1. high number of scientific papers published in leading international journals,

2. high number of scientific papers presented at international conferences,

3. achieved results in the development of the appropriate educational and scientific field

4. higher citation of scientific results and

5. international scientific reputation, namely: that he was a guest editor in reputable
international scientific journals; that he chaired the international scientific, conferences;
to have membership in the editorial boards of international scientific magazines; that he
is the author of an international scientific monograph.

Application procedure at FVM UB
The head of the department submits visiting professor application to the Teaching - Scientific Council of the Faculty, CV and the list of papers of the proposed candidate.
According the Faculty and the Council of Medical Science Group proposal Senate makes a decision of visiting professor selection. The visiting professor is elected for a period of five years. The visiting professor at the Department of Surgery, Orthopedics and Ophthalmology is Olivier Gauthier, Full Professor from ONIRIS University in Nantes, France.

GUEST LECTURER
The Faculty can engage prominent scientists, who is not emloyed at the institution, as a guest lecturer. The decision of engagement is made by the Faculty Council. The rights and obligations of a Guest Professor are regulated by Contract of teaching, under the conditions and in the manner prescribed by the general act of the Faculty. Guest lecturers are Dr Ingrid Gielen Faculty of Veterinary Medicine University of Gent, Belgium at the Department of Radiology and Radiation Hygiene, Tomislav Jelesijević, Assistant Professor, Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine, USA at the Department of Pathology and Dr Michelle Osborn, Assistant Professor, Louisisana State University, School of Veterinary Medicine, USA at the Department of Anatomy.
