| The goal | Clinical pathology and therapy of companion animals is one of elective courses with the aim to broaden professional skills and knowledge obtained during the main course. It point students towards the key and the most modern aspects of health problems of social animals - dogs, cats and horses, divided into thematic teaching blocks. | |||
| The outcome | Students should know: etiopathogenesis, diagnostic procedures for diseases and pathological conditions of companian animals, their care and treatment in regular and emergency situations, principles and procedures in the prevention of infectious diseases, principles of modern technical systems used in diagnostics and therapy; clinical nutrition of sick and recovalescent animals. | |||

| Contents of lectures | Preventive medicine, Selected chapters from the internal medicine of dogs and cats, Oncology and Equine and small animal reproduction. | |||
| Contents of exercises | Students perform their practical work at clinics and in field where they are introduced to the practical treatment of clinical cases in the context of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases that occur in common clinical practice. | |||

| Methods of teaching | Theoretical teaching is based on lectures using illustrated and interactive material, as well as archived medical records of university clinics. Practical classes will be held at clinics with the direct involvement of students in all aspects of the current clinical work, under the supervision and guidance of the teacher. | |||
