    ConditionFulfilled exam in Patolological physiology, General pathology, Specific pathology as well as Pharmacology and toxicology.
    The goalKnowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of pathology and therapy of equine diseases as well as knowledge and skills that are important for direct introduction in to the clinical praxis and autonomous solving the most frequent problems in common clinical praxis.
    The outcomeStudents should be able to know the etiology and pathogenesis of equine diseases, to understand the disease mechanisms, to perform clinical examination and to know the diagnosis and to suggest the adequate therapy, to approach and to restrain a horse, to apply drugs in an appropriate way, to perform rectal examination and probing of the stomach, and to perform urinary tract catheterization.

    Contents of lecturesSystemic equine disorders (2). Diseases of cardiovascular (4), respiratory (6) and digestive system (18). Diseases of haemolymphatic (2), musculo-skeletal (4), urogenital (2), nervous (3), endocrine system (1). Skin diseases (2). Metabolic disorders (2). Diseases of newborns (2). Sport injuries (2) and intoxication (2). Equine viral, bacterial, fungal and parasitic diseases (8).
    Contents of exercisesDrug application and basic clinical procedures in diagnostic and therapy of particular organs and organ systems (18), interactive learning on the basis of different diseases (6), practical work in clinical laboratory (4), clinical practice in the equine hospital (15).
